Terms and conditions
Last updated October 30, 2026
Ringleader ("we") runs a missed-call text-back service for home service businesses, like plumbers, electricians, roofers and heating companies. These terms cover two groups: people who get our texts, and the businesses that use Ringleader.
Part 1: For people who get our texts
The program
The Ringleader missed-call text-back program texts you after you call a business that uses Ringleader and nobody answers. Texts come from that business's Ringleader number and are about the call you made.
How you agree to get texts
Calling the business is how you agree. You only get a text if you called first. We never text bought lists, and we never send ads.
What you'll get
- One text right after your missed call.
- If you reply, a few questions about your job, like your name, the address and when you're free, so the business can call you back ready to help. An automatic assistant writes these questions. You can answer "not sure", or skip any of them.
- If you don't reply, at most one follow-up text the next day, during business hours.
- Replies from the business, in the conversation you started.
How many texts you get depends on your conversation. Message and data rates may apply.
How to stop
Reply STOP at any time. You'll get one text confirming it, and no more after that. Reply START to turn texts back on. Reply HELP for help, or email us at the address below.
Good to know
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- The automatic assistant never gives prices or promises a time. The business confirms those with you.
- Your phone number and your agreement to get texts are never sold or shared for marketing. Read our privacy policy.
Part 2: For businesses that use Ringleader
Price
Text-Back costs $99 a month (Canadian dollars, plus any tax). It's month to month, with no contract. You can cancel at any time by text or email, and you won't be charged for the next month.
Founding shop deal: the first 10 businesses that sign up by January 31, 2027 pay $69 a month for their first 3 months, then $99 a month. The deal ends on January 31, 2027 or when 10 businesses have signed up, whichever comes first.
What you agree to
- Only people who called your business get texts. You won't add phone numbers, upload lists or use Ringleader for ads.
- You'll answer customers honestly, and confirm prices and times yourself.
- You'll give us correct business details (your legal business name, contact information and address), so every text can say who it's from, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires.
- You won't send anything illegal, hateful, misleading, or about banned topics (like gambling, cannabis, firearms or high-risk loans), and you'll respect every STOP.
The automatic assistant
The assistant collects job details for you, but it can make mistakes. Read the conversation before you quote or book a job.
What we can't promise
We work hard to keep Ringleader running, but phone networks and carriers sometimes delay or block texts, and we can't guarantee that every call is caught or every text is delivered. Ringleader is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for lost jobs or other indirect losses. Our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the last three months.
Ending the service
You can stop at any time. We can stop the service if these terms are broken, for example if Ringleader is used to text people who never called. When you leave, we delete your conversations unless you ask us to send you a copy first.
Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Businesses using Ringleader get an email about important changes before they start.
The law
These terms follow the laws of Ontario and of Canada.
